TREKKING ROUTES
Bardineto, offers over 150km of trails suitable for walkers of all ages and levels. Walks, trekking and trail running will give you a unique experience in contact with nature a few kilometers from the sea of Finale Ligure and Loano. Our trails are part of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri path that crosses the whole of Liguria on the crest of our hills and mountains that will give you breathtaking views.
Bardineto and the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri
The Hotel Maria Nella in Bardineto is located along the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri route and is a strategic point to stop or take part of the total route (Section 2 - Section 3).
The Alta Via dei Monti Liguri is a route created to be traveled on foot, it crosses the whole of Liguria from Ventimiglia to Ceparana (La Spezia) and has a total length of 440 km. The particular characteristic of winding between the mountains and the sea offers the possibility of being traveled practically for most of the year, in a setting with breathtaking views, where the gaze sweeps from Monviso to Corsica. With rare exceptions, managed with ad hoc detours, even bikers and hikers on horseback can cover the 43 stages.

23 km of panoramic and spectacular path to cross 5 peaks of the Ligurian Alps and the splendid Acquetta Forest. In the central part of the forest you can see the beautiful Lago Rotondo, while in the highest part there is the Balzi Rossi Crest which gives its name to the path and the spectacular peak of Monte Carmo.
The trail crosses splendid chestnut, fir, poplar and birch woods and it is easy to meet fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar, foxes, chamois, squirrels and stone martens. With a little luck you can spot the black, red and green woodpecker, the buzzard, the golden eagle and the harrier in a landscape shaped by caves and sinkholes.

Rocca Barbena ring
The ring route allows you to discover the Rocca Barbena, our Little Dolomite and is intertwined with the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri route. From the summit the view is breathtaking: towards the north, beyond the cliff, the Bardineto plateau manifests itself in all its beauty; towards the east, Monte Carmo and Agnellino dominate the scene; to the south the coast and the sea while, to the west, the Galero and the Ormea peak in the distance.
